Hope serves as Secretary of the Jewish Electorate Institute. Active in Jewish causes and Democratic campaigns and policy initiative over her long career as a nationally recognized management employment lawyer. She is presently largely retired from Paley Rothman, a regional law firm located in Bethesda, Maryland and serving clients in the DMV and beyond to other jurisdictions around the country.
Ms. Eastman was married to Ronald Eastman, a fellow student at Harvard Law School. Mr. Eastman practiced law in DC and New York with Cadwallader Wickersham & Taft. After a long illness, he passed away in 2012. They have two sons, both physicians. Alex after a career as a trauma surgeon at Southwestern Medical School and Parkland Hospital in Dallas, has recently become a senior medical officer at the Department of Homeland Security. Andrew is a family practice physician at the Swedish Hospital System in Seattle. Fellowship trained in obstetrics, he also delivers babies as part of his work at Swedish. Ms. Eastman has a significant other with whom she lives, Allen Childs. He is a retired psychiatrist who relocated here from Austin, Texas.
Ms. Eastman has volunteered in various roles at the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington and other Jewish causes. She is currently on the Board of Directors of the Strathmore Music Center in Montgomery County.
